Passenger Processing Systems

Experience and Innovation Keep People Moving

With the number of travelers increasing every year and changing security requirements, Airport operators are constantly working to keep lines shorter and passengers moving smoothly—making passenger processing more crucial than ever. ARINC has nearly 80 years of experience understanding and meeting the needs of the aviation and airport industries. We design, install and maintain processing solutions configured to be efficient, economical space-savers—fully integrated and easily adaptable to the always-evolving needs of airport operations.

IFIS ScreenARINC's i MUSE™ passenger processing systems streamline the ticketing, check-in, and boarding of passengers, eliminating many of the problems that can lead to congestion and delays. At the same time, these common-use systems enhance security.

The system is a multi-user network that allows airlines and vital support organizations to share important information in real time. Every transaction—from ticketing and baggage handling, to rental car and hotel reservations—can be processed over the common network, eliminating communications barriers.

With more and more passengers seeking alternative check-in options, ARINC has become the global leader in common-use kiosks as well—allowing travelers to save valuable time avoiding long lines, giving operators the ability to divert traffic in highly congested areas, and providing airlines crucial cost-sharing opportunities.

Passengers can even check-in from their hotels or cruises with OnVoy, remote locations with i MUSE Express, and from home or their cell phones with vMUSE. No matter where, ARINC keeps your customers moving.

Our passenger Identity Management System (IdMS) tracks passenger movement and automatically identifies passengers through biometric techniques at existing security systems. In addition, advanced passenger information, such as passport data, can be entered automatically using document readers.

The AirVUE™ web-enabled information manager for airports allows passengers to view real-time flight information from any location using their PDAs, cell phones, or any Internet connection. And they can receive automatic flight updates wherever they are—at the terminal, at home, or in between.

Baggage ImageARINC's BagMatch system uses radio frequency identification of baggage tags to track baggage and quickly locate and return lost bags—a big passenger issue. The system also matches every bag with a flying passenger—a big security issue.

All of our passenger processing systems are designed to be seamlessly integrated into existing infrastructure, fully-scalable, minimally invasive, budget-conscious, to maximize operational efficiency, and promote airport flow. Take a look at all the benefits of our end-to-end comprehensive airport solutions portfolio.

Airport Security

With decades of experience providing proven, comprehensive solutions for the airports industry, ARINC understands the importance of security in every aspect of operations. It is interwoven into the architectural fabric of airport operations—protecting passengers, employees, information, and infrastructure.

Our passenger processing systems—such as i MUSE™—enhance security by allowing airlines to share vital passenger and baggage information in real time, on high-speed multi-user networks. From traditional check-in, to common-use kiosks, to off-site locations, ARINC assures airlines can access the information they need when they need it, while maintaining the privacy of their passengers.

ARINC’s Identity Management System (IdMS) uses biographical and biometric information to authenticate passenger data, screen employees, and track workers throughout the airport more efficiently and securely than ever before.

Transitioning from 2-D barcode bag tags to RFID tracking significantly increases baggage processing security. Airlines can match bags with passengers anywhere in the airport and beyond, making sure a bag does not get on a plane that a passenger doesn’t. Beyond-line-of-sight tracking and sensing allows bags to be found and rerouted much more quickly than through manual processes.

ARINC also delivers comprehensive Intrusion Detection System (IDS)—fully-integrated with our Advanced Information Management (AIM) system—to provide video surveillance, CCTV, access control, and secure area access management. From analysis and design, to integration, installation, and testing, we offer full life-cycle services optimized and scaled for any size airport.

AviNet—ARINC’s private, highly reliable voice and communications network—provides critical backbone security throughout the entire airport architecture for all messaging, wireless, and broadband services.
