COMSOFT Expedites AMHS/ATN Deployment in Asia-Pacific Region - 20/08/2009
AMHS Centre deployment and interoperability tests with Macao successfully completed in Hong Kong.Hong Kong/China, August 2009 – In August CAD of Hong Kong and AACM of Macao have announced the flawless completion of interoperability tests over the ATN network. The tests were conducted according to the ASIA-PAC AMHS manual which includes clear testing guidelines for both AMHS and ATN connections.
Whereas the two air navigation service providers pursued their AMHS programmes independent of each other, they both acquired COMSOFT’s market-leading messaging solution based on the sophisticated AIDA product family. Macao has been AMHS-ready since end 2008, waiting for first partners to connect.
Being one of the designated ATN backbone sites Hong Kong plays a significant role in the aeronautical communication network. The main and contingency AMHS systems in Hong Kong were installed in May 2009, complemented by up to 150 CADAS AMHS terminals for comfortable and assisted entering of ATS data as well as display of such. In addition to the actual AMHS components, CAD of Hong Kong obtained COMSOFT’s fully graphical network management system CNMS for integrated status monitoring of all relevant messaging components.
Due to a comprehensive set of trainings the technical staff on both sides was best prepared to conduct the tests with minimum support from COMSOFT. Further AIDA users in the region have now scheduled interoperability tests within the next few months, merely underlining the fact that all parameters for the first operational AMHS connection in Asia are set. Just in March this year the ANSPs of Oman and Abu Dhabi have established the first permanent AMHS link in the Middle East with COMSOFT systems, and showed how efficiently AIDA supports the seamless transition from AFTN to AMHS.
