Carleton’s technical platform, The Solid Edge 3D CAD system, is a parametric package that allows easy changes to be made at any stage of the development process and enables full integration between the design and manufacturing processes.

Worldwide expertise

Carleton’s consoles have been used across the globe in the following applications:

Eurocontrol Maastricht (ATC centre for European UAC) – 120 ATC consoles at the Upper Air Corridor Traffic Control Centre in Holland which manages over 2 million civil and military air movements each year. Carleton Furniture Group designed, manufactured and installed ATC workstation consoles incorporating air flow, lighting, acoustics and electro - magnetic interference control

Eurocontrol Belgium (control centre for European flight planning) – 70 air-controlled CFMU consoles. Carleton supplied command and control centre consoles for the Central Flow Management Unit controlling 32,000 flights a day. A special feature of this particular project was the air cooling system

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (ATC approach for RHADS) –  ATC consoles

Comtec Kuwait (security centre at Kuwait Airport) –  angular consoles and all storage systems

Transurb Technirail Belgium (training desks) – 20 linear simulation consoles for French SNCF Railways, three linear consoles - control desks for Eurostar simulator, 12 linear simulation consoles  for Jamaican Railways 

National Grid Transco  (NOC centre for controlling UK gas supply)  35 height-adjustable consoles and all back-office furniture. The consoles were designed to secure a 24 hour operational centre which controls the gas supply throughout the UK. The project consisted of the design and development of bespoke fitted control room consoles together with the supply of all operator and administration furniture.

Scotia Gas (NOC centre for controlling SE gas supply) – 16 height-adjustable consoles and all front and back-office furniture. The NOC consoles were supplied to secure  a 24 hour operational centre controlling the gas supply throughout London.

BT Airwave Rugby (UK national emergency services communication centre) – curved consoles and all front and back office furniture

Berlaymont Brussels (security centre in the EEC building) – double-height consoles and  single-height consoles
