Crisplant is awarded ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification

* Crisplant adds ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 to its existing ISO 9001 certification

* Highest standard for health and safety awarded by the Danish Working Environment Authority

* Certification supports Crisplant’s ability to help customers to reduce their environmental impact and improve quality, efficiency and occupational safety

Crisplant AS, Denmark announces that it has received certification to ISO 14001, for environmental management systems, and to OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety management systems).  The company have also been awarded the highest standard of excellence in health and safety from the Danish Working Environment Authority.

Anders Aagaard Christensen, Crisplant, Head of Quality, Safety, Health and Environment, comments, “Crisplant’s focus is on developing ground-breaking products for improving efficiency and employee safety, and for enabling companies to reduce their carbon footprint.  It is appropriate, therefore, that we demonstrate our own ability to work at the highest levels of quality, occupational safety and environmental responsibility by achieving certification which is recognised worldwide.”

The latest Crisplant LS-4000 sorters feature a new motor technology which allows customers to reduce energy consumption by 75%, compared to conventional sorters, delivering a significant contribution to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.  The Crisplant RampMate achieves a major break-through in health and safety by being the first sorter to eliminate manual handling of baggage onto the aircraft ramp.  Previously the need to manual load heavy baggage onto the aircraft has been seen as a high risk activity for ground-handling staff within the airport sector.

In addition to the latest certificates, Crisplant’s sites in Denmark, Germany and France, which have been ISO 9001 certified for 10 years, are now certified to ISO 9001/2008.  The combination of certification to ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO9001 confirms that Crisplant has well functioning quality, environmental and occupational health and safety systems.

Crisplant’s innovative LS-4000 sorters have been installed by major operators in the parcel, post, warehouse and distribution material handling, as well as in airport baggage handling sectors.  The first RampMate system is installed in Copenhagen Airports.
