Resource Management System "sally stand/gate" successfully put into operation at Vienna AirportThe tactical version of "sally stand/gate" is operating since the beginning of 2010
Braunschweig/Germany, Vienna/Austria, April 2010 – Since 2009 the strategic version of the resource manager “sally” of delair Air Traffic Systems GmbH has been operating at Vienna Airport for pre-planning tasks. Recently also the tactical version started operations successfully.
The users are very satisfied with the high flexibility of the system and the extremely powerful and fast planning algorithm. Before “sally” was introduced planning was a very laborious task which took hours of manual planning and refinement every day. Now planning for the next day is done with just a few mouse clicks in seconds – with all the expertise of the users´ knowledge!
Now all the users´ knowledge from years of operation is stored in a very flexible set of rules. Based on this rule set “sally” provides permanent support and control. The users are notified of every breach of the rule set and alternative planning proposals are offered.
A-CDM
“sally” is part of delair’s A-CDM product family (Advanced Collaborative Decision Making). The family of products helps to reduce fuel consumption, noise and pollutant emissions through reduced holdings, shorter flight times in the TMA (Terminal Maneuvering Area), and shorter taxi times before take-off and further optimised procedures. The product suite includes the A-CDM platform as the interface between delair’s applications and external systems, as well as other advanced planning tools. The advanced tools consist of the arrival and departure manager “darts4D“, which was developed in cooperation with DFS based on the DFS arrival manager “4D-Planner” and the departure manager “darts” from delair; furthermore the resource manager “sally” and the electronic flight strip system “focus”.
