EasyRoller – the wheelchair without metal parts.
The situation for disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility when travelling by air was far from satisfactory prior to the adoption of the EU 1107/2006. Non-discrimination and equal opportunities were the aims of the regulation, and the freedom of choice is one of them.
But the situation is not satisfactory, and the security control is one of difficulties disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility is facing when travelling by air.
Disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility could not choose to pass through security controls at airports without generating metal detector alarms. EasyRoller AS saw the difficult situation for the passengers in wheelchairs, the operational problems for the airports and the security aspect, and developed a wheelchair without any metal components.
EasyRoller is designed by Eker Design, and the ergonomic design, as sculpting and padding of the seat, was emphasized.
EasyRoller is also used in swimming pools, Spa, hospitals, MRI labs, ship and port facility security and in prisons.
EasyRoller is certified as a wheelchair by the Swedish Institute of Assistive Technology.
Metal parts in a wheelchair may be regarded as a dangerous device, which may be used to commit an act of unlawful interference.
Airport Security Wheelchairs
EasyRoller contains no metal parts and generates no signal in metal detectors, and persons in wheelchairs not carrying metal objects may pass through the security control without any metal detector alarms.
The persons will have the same right as all other citizens to choose not to alarm the metal detectors, and may be seated through the security control.
Increased throughput, operational effectiveness and enhanced security will be achieved.
EasyRoller represents a new era in security screening.
Ergonomic
EasyRoller is developed for people with reduced mobility as well as for their assistants. It has an easy access from the side when sliding into the seat.
EasyRoller is developed in such a way that when sitting, the back rest takes up the weight of the upper body as well as the physiological curves of the spine. This is critical to prevent excessive lower back pressures.
Quality Control
EasyRoller AS has developed a quality control system based on ISO 9001 to ensure that all wheelchairs manufactured have the same quality as the one certified by the Swedish Institute of Assistive Technology.
Also used for:
- Swimming pools and spa, contains only non-corrosive parts.
- Hospitals, no loose parts and no effect on MRI equipment.
- Ship and port facility security, no metal parts
- Prisons, no metal parts to be used as weapons.
