Flughafen Wien AG is one of the few listed airport operators in Europe. Its public shareholders, the province of Lower Austria and the city of Vienna, each hold 20% of share capital and thereby provide a stable ownership structure.A further 10% of the Company’s share capital was transferred to an employee fund in 2000, and allows the employees of Flughafen Wien AG to participate directly in the success of the Company. The remaining 50% of shares represent free float.

Flughafen Wien AG: Blue Air connects Vienna with the north of Romania Flughafen Wien AG: Blue Air connects Vienna with the north of Romania
Vienna International Airport is expanding its offering of destinations in Eastern Europe: starting on 15 July 2009 the Romanian airline Blue Air will connect Vienna with Suceava, a city located in the north of the country, three times per week.
Blue Air will take off in Suceava on Monday and Wednesday at 10.15 am and land in Vienna at 11.15 am. The machine will then depart from Vienna at 12 noon.
The third weekly connection is scheduled for Friday. On this day Blue Air will leave Suceava at 12:45 pm and depart from Vienna for the return trip at 2:15 pm.
This new destination will further expand the position of Vienna International Airport as a hub to Eastern Europe and the Middle East. With a total of 49 destinations, Vienna offers the most connections to the East European region.
Blue Air started operations in December 2004. This Romanian airline services a range of important destinations throughout Europe from Bucharest.
In 2008 Blue Air carried a total of 1,110,000 passengers.
