Flughafen Wien AG is one of the few listed airport operators in Europe. Its public shareholders, the province of Lower Austria and the city of Vienna, each hold 20% of share capital and thereby provide a stable ownership structure.A further 10% of the Company’s share capital was transferred to an employee fund in 2000, and allows the employees of Flughafen Wien AG to participate directly in the success of the Company. The remaining 50% of shares represent free float.

Vienna International Airport: Plus 6.7% in passengers during January 2011The number of passengers handled by Vienna International Airport rose by 6.7% year-on-year to 1,282,574 in January 2011.
Increases were also recorded in flight movements with +0.7%, maximum take-off weight (MTOW) with +12.8% and cargo with +0,6%. Transfers through Vienna were 4.6% higher than in January of the previous year.
Passenger traffic to destinations in Eastern Europe and Western Europe rose by 9.9% and 5.6%, respectively, over January 2010. The number of passengers travelling to the Middle East was 7.9% higher in January 2011.
For 2011 Flughafen Wien AG is expecting an increase of 5.0% in passengers, 3.0% in maximum take-off weight (MTOW) and 2.0% in flight movements.
