Flughafen Wien AG is one of the few listed airport operators in Europe. Its public shareholders, the province of Lower Austria and the city of Vienna, each hold 20% of share capital and thereby provide a stable ownership structure.A further 10% of the Company’s share capital was transferred to an employee fund in 2000, and allows the employees of Flughafen Wien AG to participate directly in the success of the Company. The remaining 50% of shares represent free float.

Vienna International Airport: 9.0% increase in passengers during March 2010 Strong growth outpaces European average - 15/04/2010
The number of passengers handled at Vienna International Airport increased 9.0% year-on-year to 1,492,135 during March 2010. Flight movements rose by 3.0%, maximum take-off weight (MTOW) by 7.7% and cargo by 32.6%. The number of local passengers increased 9.7% to 1,048,337. Transfer traffic at Vienna International Airport was 7.8% higher than in March 2009.
The number of passengers travelling to Eastern Europe increased 12.9% in comparison with March 2009, and again demonstrates the importance of this segment as a key driver for passenger traffic at Vienna International Airport. The number of passengers travelling to destinations in Western Europe increased 9.2% and traffic to the Middle East rose by 22.4% in March 2010.
