Commercial Vehicle Management and Parking Access Control Systems

Automated vehicle identification software for ground transportation management and parking access control that dramatically reduces congestion, increases security, lowers costs and generates new revenue sources.

Controlling the high volume of ground transportation and passenger vehicles is a significant challenge in airports today.  The urgency is driven partly by increased security concerns and partly by financial concerns, as operating costs are on the rise and expanding/maintaining facilities is consuming ever-more capital resources.

GateKeeper Systems is a pioneer in developing and implementing integrated, real-time software for ground transportation  management and parking access control at airports. Gatekeeper’s turnkey systems, built with advanced automated vehicle identification (AVI) and vehicle tracking technology, significantly reduce congestion, dramatically increase security, creatively lower costs and generate new sources of revenue.

The company’s innovative software products are installed in dozens of airports worldwide. Some the more innovative airport projects that have delivered major benefits include:

  • Philadelphia Airport—A dual-RFID system for driver and vehicle tracking
  • Phoenix Airport—Compliance tracking of airport shuttle bus activity and schedule
  • Washington Reagan—Real-time monitoring of driver account balances
  • San Diego Airport—Integration with driver badge system

Nashville International Airport To Install GateKeeper Systems' Commercial Vehicle Management System

RFID-based system will automate taxi dispatch and trip fee collections

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 1, 2011GateKeeper Systems, Inc., a leader in commercial vehicle management and parking access control systems, today announced that Nashville International Airport will install its Commercial Vehicle Management (CVM) System as part of the airport’s ground transportation system.

GateKeeper's  CVM software is part of an RFID-based system that automates many of the manual operational and administrative processes required to provide transportation for passengers arriving and leaving an airport.  At Nashville, the system will automate the taxi dispatch process and the collection of trip fees, and will allow for the use of credit cards as a payment method for both individual drivers and taxi companies.

"Our CVM software allows airports to take advantage of RFID technology to increase revenues and lower operating costs in ways not possible with manual systems," said GateKeeper Systems President Lynn Richardson. "This technology is a unique opportunity for airport ground transportation operators to see significant benefits."

GateKeeper Systems teamed with RFID tag and reader manufacturer TransCore to submit a proposal for a turn-key system, which was selected over other proposals in a competitive process.  The installation, which will include 16 lanes of RFID equipment that will monitor about 1,500 commercial vehicles, is scheduled to be completed by mid-2011.
