Ground Run-Up Enclosures, Blast Deflectors, Acoustic Barriers and Cabins
As a world leader in the diverse disciplines of aero-engine testing solutions, IAC provides standard and custom facilities for a wide range of civil and military aviation requirements.
IAC is among the world’s foremost suppliers of turnkey, automated aero-engine/aircraft test facilities. For over 50 years we have been designing and building: multi-engine test cells; hush houses; ground run-up pens; mobile, ‘propeller-on’ and APU test facilities. We supply to the military and commercial aircraft operators, engine manufacturers and overhaul agents worldwide.
Our complete service includes initial design through to manufacture and construction, installation, commissioning and in-service support as well as adapting and upgrading existing test cells.
IAC also designs and builds state-of-the-art electronic data acquisition and processing systems for both new and existing test facilities.
Our airport products portfolio includes the following systems:
- Jet Wake Barriers or Blast Deflectors
- Ground Run-Up Pens/Enclosures
- Hush Houses
- Head of Stand Cabins
- Acoustic Barriers/Walls
- Passenger Boarding Bridge/Jet Bridge Acoustic Protection and Ventilation
Jet Wake Barriers or Blast Deflectors
IAC produces a variety of barrier/deflector solutions that meet different requirements. We offer anything from a low level deflector/diffuser for small turboprop aircraft, to a high specification stainless steel turning vane barrier for reheated turbojets.
Our barriers have been independently tested in a wind tunnel to certify the performance and are compliant with EU and US standards.
Our system is typically modular and hence can easily be extended, modified and relocated. Standard barriers can be secured to the apron concrete or supplied on ‘forklift-able’ concrete pallets.
For any installation we can advise economic solutions tailored to your location, budget, environment etc.
Options include FAA and CAA compliant orange/white panels through to ICAO/UKCAP approved lighting systems.
Ground Run-up Enclosures
With increasing concern and tighter legislation over noise emissions, GREs are becoming the must have for many airlines and aircraft maintenance organisations. The next generation IAC GRE offers excellent acoustic and aerodynamic performance: reducing noise emissions whilst benefitting operational availability.
The GRE is an essential resource required by airlines and maintenance organisations to maintain fleets and ensure maximum aircraft availability and it is the availability of the GRE itself that is key to this being achievable.
Taking the proven performance of its existing Ground Run-up Enclosures in the field, IAC Global Aviation has utilised this wealth of test facility experience and state of the art computer modelling techniques to develop unique design features that optimise the GRE availability and most particularly address otherwise limiting wind conditions.
The resulting design proudly represents the ‘Next Generation’ on-wing aircraft test facility.
The next generation GRE is constructed using (patent pending) sections (Jetshield™ and Aerowall™), comprising a combination of rugged steel, concrete, IAC Noishield™ acoustic panels and Powerflow™ silencers. The tried and tested IAC products which form the basis of the GRE are backed by certified performance data from our laboratory in New York and are used all over the world.
Hush Houses
Providing the ultimate on wing engine testing solution, IAC Hush Houses are designed to accommodate a variety of aircraft. They are also capable of being used in a multi purpose role if required. Through the introduction of a removable engine test stand the facility can be adapted for use as an uninstalled engine test facility. Hush Houses provide a round-the-clock, all weather, aero-engine test capability.
We have supplied over 100 Hush Houses globally, covering all NATO approved aircraft.
Acoustic Barriers/Walls
IAC produces a number of acoustic barriers and walls that offer differing levels of performance and aesthetic focus. These can range from simple absorptive barriers to an architectural, surface mounted façade that can ‘hide’ noisy machinery or provide acoustic isolation for a designated area or building.
