Airport authority of India opts for MEA Drains

Port Blair Airport, in the Bay of Bengal on the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has decided to
install MEADRAIN® polymer concrete pre-cast heavy-duty drainage channels. Within 1 year of intensive teamwork Bhagat Group and MEA have been able to convince officials at the Airports Authority of India of the benefits of installing MEADRAIN® line drainage systems at airports.

Taking the entire process into consideration installing polymer concrete channels enables a rapid return on investment. With an installationtime that is about 5 times faster than concrete drainage channels, virtually no maintenance or supervision required and far better performance under very heavy loads, these drainage channels are a must for any airport.

Channels made from polymer concrete have the eco-friendly property that the material is impermeable for oils and chemicals and due to its uniform high quality the risk of FOD is reduced to an absolute minimum. For this particular airport our MEADRAIN® EN3070 and F900 gratings will be installed, a drainage system developed in close cooperation with airport engineers. A promising development in a country that already has over 150 airports…
