nsMHS
Automatic Message Switching System with AMHS, AFTN and GTS Links
A system tailor-made to satisfy the obligations and requirements of a Data Collection or Production Centre (DCPC) as well as a National Centre (NC) as defined for the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Information System (WIS) strategy. It supports connection to the ICAO Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN) and ATS Message Handling System (AMHS) as well as airport MET offices.
The Message Handling System is responsible for the ingestion, validation, storage, dissemination and delivery of meteorological messages in a variety of formats. The System provides an integrated approach to meeting the requirements of routine collection and storage of observational data, automatic distribution of scheduled products, both real time and non-real time and ad-hoc non-routine applications (e.g. requests for non-routine data and products). It's modular, scalable and flexible design allows for the transmission of products from/to varied data sources/sinks with a diverse protocol set for seamless integration into the GTS, AFTN, AMHS, Internet, etc.
This software suite includes a main control centre that addresses all aspects of management, monitoring and control.
nsBRIEF & nsWEBPIB
WAFS Visualization and Meteorological Pre-Flight Briefing
An automated and interactive Flight Briefing system that schedules pre-defined bulletins based on flight routes or individually selected airports or Flight Information Regions (FIR). Interactive briefing utilizes an animated globe map that shows various data items geographically and narrow route briefing automatically selects Met information for bulletin inclusion in order to supply users with present and forecasts of en-route meteorological conditions in pictorial, alphanumeric and digital form.
The software utilizes the latest 3D Graphics Acceleration to bring users an unparalleled interactive experience. Free movement of the earth allows various weather data types to be accessed at will from any vantage point and zoom level in real-time. The user interface allows the customer to view SIGWX weather elements, GRIB products or derivatives, satellite images and other forecaster necessities from any angle instantaneously. Flight folders can be printed, faxed or transmitted via the AFTN, AMHS, internet, etc.
The web-based self-briefing system allows authorized Internet users to obtain professional pre-flight briefings with the minimum amount of input. Meteorological data is automatically selected according to the flight plan. Briefing products include cross sections and special route charts and can also be delivered via FTP.
nsGIB ATC
Near Real Time Weather Display of RADAR, Lightning, Volcanic Ash Clouds, OPMET and Significant Weather
This system assists ATCs to do pre-tactical planning based on current and forecasted weather. The ATC friendly HMI displays and animates RADAR, lightning activity, visual TAF and METAR, volcanic ash clouds and significant weather from WAFS models on a 3D globe.
Visual annotation on a feature rich background enables ATCs to publish short term plans or to create areas of interest for the production of NOTAM.
This product enables ATC call centres to brief users on current and future weather situations and to provide QNH values per area.
nsNOTAM
NOTAM Management Software for NOFs and FICs
Computerize and automate the function of a NOTAM office (NOF). Also allows NOTAM proposals (or requests) to be issued by airports under the NOF’s control and for the generation of NOTAM PIBs when required.
This system comprises of a central redundant server and FIC positions for the correction, promulgation and management of NOTAM at a central site. Client systems at airports connect via an intranet and/or the AFTN to the NOF. These client systems (at the FISs) are used to make new NOTAM proposals to the FIC, query existing NOTAM and generate AIS bulletins based on a Flight Route, a set of FIRs and/or a set of aerodromes.
The NOF satisfies all the statutory ICAO requirements, for example monthly summaries and checklists. An interesting facility available in the system is the automatic generation of warning charts indicating dangerous areas by decoding the co-ordinates from the E) field and adding the areas to the map.
A further extension is the ability to do a graphical query directly from the map. These maps are automatically printed for inclusion in the Flight documentation, and can also be published on the web for external users.
