Reel S.A.S - Qatar Airways' desire to maintain the aircrafts of its quickly expanding fleet led it to build a new huge hangar at the new airport of DohaTwo years ago, REEL, a French company, world leader in aircraft maintenance and assembling equipments, was awarded for the contract to design, manufacture and commission all the necessary dockings and platforms for both light and heavy maintenance of the Qatar Airways fleet.
This meant setting up two heavy-maintenance bays with a never-before-seen degree of flexibility and complexity, to be used for wide-body aircrafts as varied as the A380, B777, A340, A330 and A300 currently in service, and also for the new-generation A350s and B787s, plus a maintenance bay for the narrow-body aircrafts A319, A320 and A321s.
At the same time REEL designed and delivered 115 dockings and platforms for the light maintenance operations of all these aircrafts, multi-aircraft-self-propelled engine docks and hydraulic self-propelled aerial lifts.
All equipment is now ready for use, ahead of the client's effective need.
