Maintenance Cradles for Airport Terminals
Rostek Oy, established in 1984 is specialised in permanent access systems and access equipment, suspended platforms for window cleaning and building maintenance.
We have delivered more than 3000 projects and spectacular access systems to, for example, London, Paris, Berlin, Singapore, Hong Kong, Moscow and Dubai. In these cities, as well as in many other parts of the world, building maintenance systems from Rostek are regarded to be something special: Smart access solutions for demanding customers.
The keys to our success are innovative aluminium designs, a very large range of products and our ability to give fast and flexible tailor-made service to our demanding customers.
At airport terminals our systems improve the safety and efficiency of maintenance work. The Rostek System also enables remarkable savings and in many cases it is the only way to solve difficult access problems.
We are small enough to be flexible and to give excellent customer service, but we are also financially strong enough to handle big projects and to be able to invest in new products, production methods and innovations. Product development is a major part of our daily work and we have highly qualified design engineers for that purpose.
Smart, lightweight access solutions using versatile aluminium profiles are our strength. Our platforms look good, they are strong and safe and move very easily. We have aluminium tracks for light and heavy applications, both horizontal and inclined. Our Roslift trolley is able to climb inclined and vertical tracks with full 500 kg working load. This enables us to solve many difficult access problems in a cost-efficient way typically in low-rise buildings like terminals.
Rostek Today
For the last 16 years Rostek has concentrated on own access products (mainly in aluminium) and exports.
We currently have some 60 special own-designed profiles, some of them internationally patented. Our world-famous ROSLIFT climbing trolley has 2 international patents.
Our product range is probably the widest on the market, including 11 different track profiles. This enables us to choose the optimum track for any purpose.
We also have a smart range of gantries, enabling us to make very complex gantry systems and can fulfill most demanding requirements from Architects.
Our BMU-cradles have become very successful and our annual production of approx. 100 units exceeds most traditional cradle producers, who naturally use own hoists. We use hoists from Power Climber/Belgium.
We are very international and speak actively 4 languages within the Company and we can speak 6-7 other languages if needed.
Rostek has a very active R&D department and we believe we are the clear forerunners in this.
80-90% of our turnover is exports to approx. 35 countries. We have made approx. 3,000 projects around the World, main market areas being Europe, South-East Asia and Middle East.
In 2010 we formed a Daughter Company Rostek-UK Ltd (see www.Rostek-UK.com). The company has very quickly reached a leading role on the UK-Market.
Rostek Ladders
An aluminium ladder moving along Rostek track offers a practical and economical solution for various inclined and vertical glass facades or roofs. Many special solutions are available including telescopic, curved and pyramid ladders.
A ladder with vertically moving platform or a boxladder offer an alternative for a suspended platform in some projects.
Telescopic Ladders
Telescopic extensions enable maintenance of areas with varying measures with a single ladder/track system. This also makes it possible to "get around" obstacles. The telescopic extension is moved manually and significantly increases the effective working length of the ladder.
Pyramid Ladders
Pyramid shaped glass skylights are a challenge for the BMU-supplier. Rostek has designed special ladder systems for these difficult skylights.
Curved Ladders
Rostek offers curved ladders to match the various shapes of buildings. These ladders can have different types of steps to ensure best possible working conditions from every part of the ladder. Rostek works out the best option for each project.
Ladder with Vertically Moving Platform
This special system includes a heavy duty vertical ladder equipped with a platform for one person. The platform is moved vertically by a counterweight and with a hand winch. This solution offers an ergonomic and easy way to maintain vertical walls. In many cases it can be used as a replacement for a suspended platform.
Rostek ladders are custom made to fit every project. They can be curved or straight and inclined or vertical.
Interior and Exterior Gantries
Rostek makes both interior and exterior gantries for most varying and challenging applications. The Rostek design together with special profiles enable us to have gantries with free spans exceeding 30m. Our strong, yet light and easily traversing gantries are an ideal solution for maintaining large skylights.
Rostek aluminium gantries:
- are designed to blend in with the architecture. Both curved and angled gantries are made to meet exact requirements of each project.
- telescopic gantries are used to maintain irregularly shaped skylights giving access to areas otherwise hard to reach
- are made to be an aesthitically integrated part of the skylight
- can be equipped with a movable tower or platform for extra vertical reach
- can have a suspended platform or a ladder hanging underneath the gantry
- traverse either manually or electrically on Rostek-tracks. RS133-track offers the unique option to have either a suspended platform or a vertical ladder together with a gantry using the same track and freely passing each other.
Technical data:
- gantries are either naturally anodised or powder-coated to any RAL colour according to the customer’s choice
- normal guard rail height for Rostek gantries is 1100 mm. The toeboard height is normally 100 or 150mm.
- the steps and the floor can alternatively be made of aluminium grating or plate
- if the inclination of the gantry is > 15 steps are usually used instead of flooring
- all dimensions and specifications can be varied according to local regulations and requirements
Rostek gantries are also custom made, we have made gantries 30m long.
Rostek Suspended Platforms
A suspended platform running along a monorail track is an effective way to access glass or other facades requiring maintenance. Suspended platforms can also be used during construction as a replacement for expensive scaffolds. This makes remarkable savings possible.Rostek produces both CE-approved 1-man or 2-men standard platforms and the possibility for modular suspended platforms for lengths up to 20 m. All platforms have PowerClimber hoists and safety devices. In case of motorised trolleys being used, all controls can be built into control box. Platforms are also equipped with castor wheels for moving them easily on ground.
Suspended platforms can also be used for interior access to skylights instead of permanent gantries. The platform can traverse along horizontal or inclined Rostek monorails, which are laid out to enable access to all parts of the skylight.
Rostek also offers a davit system as an alternative to the track systems. Our davit system consists of an aluminium lightweight arm with a mobile socket and pedestals in hot dip galvanized steel.
