ICS 200/60 Platform
The technical basis of the Schmid Telecom solution consists of the fully digital Voice Communication Switching (VCS) ICS 200/60 platform which is designed in a modular structure for all ATC centres. The ICS 200/60 supports distributed installation and digital networking with flexible allocation of radio channels, intercom channels and telephone lines.
The system follows the distributed intelligence philosophy to give maximum system availability. The controller positions (user interfaces) are equipped with bright touch panels for the intuitive operation of ground/ground and air/ground communication.
The radio communication features include advanced frequency management functions such as fast symmetric and asymmetric retransmission (cross-coupling), Climax, seamless Best Signal Section (BSS) and Automatic Transmitter Selection (ATS). ICS 200/60 platform provides digital connections to remote radio sites and between centres for task sharing.
Model Range
ICS SkyThe ACC/APP solution for large control centres with an extensive voice communication system, radio coverage capability and workload management for flexible control of a large Flight Information Region. ICS Sky exploits the radio frequency management functions provided by the platform, as well as advanced workload management capabilities provided by the system management application.
ICS Traffic
ICS Traffic is an integrated voice communication system, designed for international ATC tower and approach applications with high traffic volumes. The system can be extended with area control functionalities.
ICS Compact
A modern voice switching system designed for operations at regional airports. The system is modular and expandable. ICS Compact can be easily upgraded to an ICS Traffic.
ICS Mobile
Mobile applications require robust and flexible installations in shelters. ICS Mobile takes advantage of the modularity of the ICS 200/60 platform and this allows the system to be distributed in different locations, either within a confined, transportable control room or among several mobile shelters.
ICS Connect
ICS Connect offers gateway functions between different or legacy VCS infrastructure, enabling their interconnection to a modern digital network.
