Reliable sorting for each airport size continues to be a key differentiator in judging airport reliability. Our full range of sorting solutions truly delivers value. Not only for final sortation, but also for other essential functions such as pre-sorting or implementation of an (Early) Baggage Storage.

Now that the BAXORTER has also been successfully introduced in the North American market, we have become the only company with a full range of sorters available in-house for each and any airport application anywhere in the world. From make-up carousels, pushers and diverters to the BAXORTER and high-capacity closed deck tilt tray sorters such as the HELIXORTER, proven by references throughout the world.

Solutions for minimum connection times require fast transport which differ immensely per airport. When baggage only has to travel short distances, our wide range of really energy-efficient, belt-based equipment is capable of solving all customer-specific system requirements.

When distances increase, high-speed DCV (Destination Coded Vehicle) systems are available to meet minimum connection time requirements. Our TUBTRAX (baggage in tubs) and the track-based version, BAGTRAX, are operating reliably and continue yielding the highest handling quality at numerous airports around the world since as early as 1970. 

Intelligent Flight Building

Reducing peak requirements by intelligent flight build is a more effective use of scarce investment funds, operational resources and available space than designing for absolute peaks. Baggage peaks can be smoothed out through intelligent flight building by applying different handling strategies to early, on-time and late baggage.

Our leading position in intelligent flight build has been demonstrated once more with the innovative process and system design for the new Terminal 3 at London Heathrow that will be implemented over the coming years. At Amsterdam Schiphol Airport new facilities incorporating 100% automated intelligent flight building will be operational this calendar year.

The successful development in handling late baggage,  to deliver it directly to the aircraft stand as quickly as possible, contributes significantly to the excellent performance at London Heathrow Terminal 5. This is achieved with high-speed BAGTRAX, improving service levels by dramatically reducing the Minimum Connection Time, especially for transfer passengers.

VIBES Software Suite

Performance monitoring is the basis for continuous improvement and guarantees accurate, fact-based decisions. VIBES, our software suite for this process, enables full control of end-to-end baggage operations.

Besides equipment status the key performance statistics of the baggage handling processes like screening machines performance, progress on flight build and resource usage are monitored. Also offline preparation of the plan of the day is fully supported by VIBES’ planning functions. A full range of analysis and reporting capabilities is available as well, with one access point for all information, supporting analysis of reported issues and trends.

The latest innovation in VIBES is workflow management of the flight build process with integrated baggage reconciliation. It supports the reconciliation process to ensure that bags of passengers who are not on board are not loaded, unless explicitly screened. The baggage handler is supported by indicating the exact container (ULD) or cart to load the bag into after a positive match.

The rich set of functions available within the VIBES suite delivers new potential to further optimise and streamline our customers operations, allowing for continuous improvement to minimise downtime and maximise performance.
