Wanzl offers airports around the world a complete product range of landside luggage trolleys for the comfortable handling of baggage, as well as airside trolleys for transit and duty-free shopping. Compatible products are also available for the efficient and time-saving collection of trolleys.

As a system supplier, Wanzl also offers the option of taking responsibility for the complete trolley management and trolley monitoring process, from the planning stage through to the delivery of a turnkey solution, in cooperation with Airport Cart Service GmbH, a subsidiary of Wanzl GmbH. ACS offers individual service packages with services ranging from project planning, procurement and financing to system implementation and start-up, and right through to daily operation, including the supply of trolleys and vending units for trolley rentals plus additional maintenance.

Wanzl passenger guidance systems guide the flows of passengers and, through the use of controlled access systems, such as the eGate control system, ensure the rapid, precise and tamper-proof checking of passengers.

"Butler" Vending Unit

Wanzl is constantly improving trolley management. As a world first, the company is presenting the “Butler” concept study for the organized supply of passenger luggage trolleys with an integrated conveyor system. After the fee or deposit is paid, the “Butler” vending unit automatically activates the passenger luggage trolley in the station and transports it to the passenger.

Now the trolley simply and effortlessly can be taken. The trolley return system is equally innovative: the built-in conveyor unit draws the trolley back into the station.

As an option service personnel are able to make use of the “Butler” vending unit via remote control. A few clicks on the remote are sufficient for the system to automatically convey a defined number of trolleys from the vending unit.

eGate Control System

In conjunction with Nuremberg Airport Wanzl has developed an innovative eGate control system with automated boarding card control. Passengers need to place their boarding pass in paper or electronic (on a Smartphone) form onto a scanner at the entrance to the eGate to allow their data to be compared and access authorization to be checked. This is achieved through boarding card reader and an interface to the airport flight information system.

Next, a recognition sensor system ensures that passengers are separated. As soon as these checks have been passed, access is granted and passengers then proceed to the passport and security control points.

In the event that the boarding card is invalid or passenger separation is not confirmed, the barrier remains closed. A display pictogram informs the passenger of the actual status. The eGate control system, which is not only visually attractive but also blends in well with modern airport architecture, also protects against misuse such as individuals climbing over or crawling under.

In addition, the eGate can also be connected to the airport’s building management system to help ensure perfect functioning at all times.

EasyGo turnstile

Sensitively and securely protects entries and exits: in either a two or three-armed version, with its enclosed stainless steel housing, the space-saving EasyGo turnstile guarantees that only persons with access authorisation can pass through.

EasyGo is available in a mechanical version that can be set to turn either right or left. The electromechanical version is equipped with an operating panel as standard, which provides information on the current operating and counting status.

Another Wanzl standard with electric motor additionally reports error or warning messages in real time. For chargeable access, the EasyGo turnstile can be combined with a ticket machine that accepts any currency required. After the fee is paid, using cash or credit card, access is enabled.

Wanzl can also equip the EasyGo turnstile with an anti-panic feature.
