Airport Runway Maintenance/Rubber and paint marking removal service
Weigel Hochdrucktechnik's product line is centred around the TrackJet system, which has set new standards for the removal of rubber and paint markings on runways, taxiways and aprons. It also cleans the AGL during the rubber removal process and therefore it is of increasing interest to the runway maintenance organisations and departments of the airport industry. An additional feature is road retexturing, which allows the safety of the runway or road to be improved considerably.
Weigel Hochdrucktechnik has specialized in this business field for 30 years. In 1998, by request of a customer the TrackJet Rubber and Paint Removal System was developed and sold to an Airport Contractor in East Asia. Up until 2009 more than 29 systems have been sold.
TrackJet
TrackJet is an ultra-high-pressure precision water jet system. With its innovative computer-controlled nozzle system, the TrackJet removes 99% of rubber residues or paint markings on runways or roads without damaging the surface micro and macro texture. As it only uses a very little amount of potable water without any chemical additives, it is very environmentally friendly. Water is immediately sucked up from the surface and the road is trafficable in an instant.

TrackJet increases the safety for landing aircraft because we in general reach, after cleaning, friction values between 0.7 and 0.9. This is because major airports like Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted have signed long term service contracts with Weigel Company, however following Zurich Airport - and purchased their first TrackJet System - delivered to Heathrow Airport in June 2006.

Finally
The modern technology not only offers safer runways for Pilots and Airlines, but reduces maintenance costs for the Airport Industry. More than 40 airports in Europe - among them leading Airports like Heathrow, Gatwick, Amsterdam Schiphol, Munich, Lisbon and abroad prove that the application of this technology is reducing the cleaning intervals and prolonging the life-time of the runway surfaces, because the texture and grooves are no longer damaged, but the rubber is removed by nearly 100% without any damage to the surface texture below.
Additionally to the sales of the TrackJet, Weigel Hochdrucktechnik provides contract services for rental of TrackJet system.
