Airport Runway Maintenance/Rubber and paint marking removal service
Weigel Hochdrucktechnik's product line is centred around the TrackJet system, which has set new standards for the removal of rubber and paint markings on runways, taxiways and aprons. It also cleans the AGL during the rubber removal process and therefore it is of increasing interest to the runway maintenance organisations and departments of the airport industry. An additional feature is road retexturing, which allows the safety of the runway or road to be improved considerably.
Weigel Hochdrucktechnik has specialized in this business field for 30 years. In 1998, by request of a customer the TrackJet Rubber and Paint Removal System was developed and sold to an Airport Contractor in East Asia. Up until 2009 more than 29 systems have been sold.

26th TrackJet Purchase Contract signed by AAI (Airports Authority of India)Weigel Hochdrucktechnik GmbH & Co. KG has been selected to supply two TrackJet rubber removal machines for Chennai and Kolkata International Airports, bringing the sales of TrackJet in India to 5 units.
The Weigel Company from Germany has developed a revolutionary precision water jetting method, offering the road and airport industry a completely new practice of runway and road maintenance. The TrackJet System removes 99% of rubber build-ups and paint markings without damaging the surface micro texture. TrackJet uses a minimal amount of water, applied by very high pressure but the computer-controlled unique nozzle system enables the environmentally friendly, extremely effective maintenance of all types of surfaces and even allows the cleaning of AGL and paint markings without any damage to the sealing of the AGL or paint markings below the rubber.
This modern technology, using extreme little water while not damaging the texture below, increases rubber removal intervals and thereby extends the lifespan of the runway surfaces by 50%, which in addition reduces the costs of runway maintenance. It increases the safety for landing aircraft because in general, friction values between 0.7 and 0.9 after cleaning are achieved.
Due to these reasons the BAA Airports Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted as well as Amsterdam Schiphol Int. Airport, Brussels Airport Company and many other major airports had signed long-term service contracts with the Weigel Company or have purchased the technology. Consequently the Weigel Service Department is busy maintaining airport traffic areas on airports ranging from Madeira and Lisbon to Domodedovo, Russia.
The Sales Department has been globally successful in marketing this unique TrackJet to airports in Vietnam, Korea, Western Europe, Russia, Turkey, Malaysia, India, on the Arabian Peninsular and to the US Air Force. As airport authorities have become increasingly aware that their runways and other traffic areas are their most precious assets, the financial and environmental benefits of using the TrackJet technology, which is non-damaging yet very effective for runway maintenance, have become apparent.
