Airport Runway Maintenance/Rubber and Paint Marking Removal Service
Weigel Hochdrucktechnik's product line is centred around the TrackJet system, which has set new standards for the removal of rubber and paint markings on runways, taxiways and aprons. It also cleans the AGL during the rubber removal process and therefore it is of increasing interest to the runway maintenance organisations and departments of the airport industry. An additional feature is road retexturing, which allows the safety of the runway or road to be improved considerably.
Weigel Hochdrucktechnik has specialized in this business field for 30 years. In 1998, by request of a customer the TrackJet Rubber and Paint Removal System was developed and sold to an Airport Contractor in East Asia. Up until 2009 more than 29 systems have been sold.

On 4 November 2008, the company Weigel Hochdrucktechnik GmbH & Co. KG handed over the delivered TrackJet to Geneva International Airport in a small ceremony. The rising Geneva airport provided a Unimog U 400 for the fitting of the state-of-the-art TrackJet technology. The TrackJet will be used for essential maintenance works and for improvement of runway security.
Within the framework of rubber removal on runways, the TrackJet technology makes sure that the runway live time is prolonged by 50%, because the rubber residues of landing airplanes are removed without any damage to the surface texture.
This statement also holds true for removal of paint markings from the movement area of the airport.
Moreover, the AGL’s (air ground lightings) are cleaned without any damage to prisms or sealings during rubber removal process as well as the aprons without damaging the surface.
The airport considers using this modern TrackJet technology also outside the airport.
