Belo Horizonte International Airport announces expansion of the store mix

After opening ten operations in six months, La Vinícola opens its doors to the public on the 15th and marks the evolution of initiatives focused on commercial infrastructure

Innovation is today’s agenda for the news announced by Belo Horizonte International Airport, which closes the first half of this year with the expansion and diversification of the mix of stores. In all, ten new commercial operations were launched in six months, which reinforces the commitment to offer solutions and provide the best travel experience to customers.

The novelty this week is the opening of La Vinícola, scheduled for July 15, in the airport lobby, which adds to the infrastructure for food, living and shopping, implemented in the first semester. “We are optimistic about the scenario that is being designed. Passenger traffic continues to rise, which makes the terminal even more attractive for major brands. The expectation is to keep evolving, always with the trust of our partners”, emphasizes Marcos Mandacaru, Commercial Director of BH Airport.

The first quarter of 2022 saw the opening of California Coffee, the new Dufry wine and candy kiosks, Doog and Liqd Bar, all in the domestic departure lounge. In April, it was the turn of Pandora, an international jewelry company, to open its second operation, now in the departure lounge. In the same month, Kopenhagen was launched at the arrivals of Passenger Terminal 2. In May, the Subway was inaugurated, in the departure lounge. To complete the semester, in June, Pizza Hut and Rokkon, a Japanese cuisine restaurant, were launched, both in the airport lounge.

Dufry will launch megastore at the airport
The second half has everything to keep warm at the airport and a Dufry megastore should open its doors by the end of the year. The company has extended its current Duty Free contract at Belo Horizonte International Airport until 2029. In addition, a ten-year contract has been awarded allowing Dufry to continue to operate its current portfolio of four Duty Paid stores, including the Dufry Shopping and Hudson and also build three more new Duty Paid stores, one of which will be a 670 square meter walkthrough store. This contract extension further consolidates Dufry’s presence in South America. Dufry has been present at Belo Horizonte International Airport since 2007, operating a total of ten Duty Free and Duty Paid stores covering a total retail area of 1,605 square meters.

“Belo Horizonte International Airport celebrates the success of this partnership. We are sure that the new Dufry stores will be very important for the customers’ experience at the airport. We thank you for your trust in our management”, reinforces Mandacaru.
