Two More International Awards for iGA Istanbul Airport

iGA Istanbul Airport, Türkiye’s gateway to the world, which won the “Outstanding Achievement Award” presented by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), also achieved great success by winning EMEA Finance’s “Best Syndicated Loan in the EMEA Region” award in 2021, thanks to its successful refinancing of 5.8 billion euros.

iGA Istanbul Airport, one of the most important global transfer hubs in the world, continues to make both Türkiye and the Turkish aviation sector proud after recently winning further global awards.

Within this context, iGA Istanbul Airport has been praised for setting an example for the industry with the special, high-level services it offers and the awareness it has created. It also realized the best syndicated loan in the region with its sustainable refinancing. Crowning its success by winning two important global awards just one day apart, iGA Istanbul Airport is continuing on its path to becoming the world’s greatest airport with its inspiring services and access to attainable financial resources.

“Outstanding Achievement” award from APEX

iGA Istanbul Airport was seen to be deserving of the ”Outstanding Achievement” award given by the Airline Passenger Experience Association, APEX, in 2022. Standing out as the first airline rating program based on passenger feedback, APEX’s 2022 evaluation results, determined by the votes of 1.2 million passengers, were announced at the awards ceremony held in Dublin, the capital of Ireland, on June 8th. While more than 1 million flights operated by approximately 600 airline companies around the world were rated by passengers in the categories of seat comfort, cabin services, catering, entertainment systems, and WiFi, APEX’s “Outstanding Achievement” award was presented to Ersin İnankul, iGA’s Deputy General Manager for Digital Services and Commerce.

iGA Istanbul Airport won this year’s “Best Syndicated Loan in the EMEA region” at the EMEA Finance Awards held annually by EMEA Finance Magazine, meaning that it has won two awards one day apart.

Each year, EMEA Finance evaluates and awards leading international financial companies, regularly profiling key financial institutions and creating a platform for their target audience to gain a more complete and comprehensive understanding of their peers and industry news.

At the awards, which were held for the 14th time this year, iGA’s successful refinancing which was realized in 2021 with a cost of 5.8 billion euros and extending its maturity by 2 years, was also presented with an award. At the EMEA Finance Awards Ceremony, held on June 9th in London, England’s capital, iGA Chief Financial Officer, Selahattin Bilgen received the ”Best Syndicated Loan in the EMEA Region” award on behalf of the company.​
