AFI KLM E&M and Rolls-Royce announce Trent XWB engine maintenance agreement to benefit A350 fleet operators

Rolls-Royce and AFI KLM E&M have announced a mutually beneficial agreement covering maintenance of the Trent XWB engine, the latest flagship product from the UK engine maker, which powers the Airbus A350 XWB. Under a maintenance program coordinated by Rolls-Royce, AFI KLM E&M is to develop industrial capabilities dedicated to the Trent XWB and repair solutions devoted to Rolls-Royce engine parts and components.

Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) and Rolls-Royce today announced AFI KLM E&M is to become part of Rolls Royce CareNetwork.

Optimizing A350 maintenance
With 25 aircraft on order and options for a further 25, the Air France KLM group will be a major operator of the A350 powered by the Trent XWB. The maintenance of these engines will be entrusted to AFI KLM E&M. In addition, AFI KLM E&M and Rolls-Royce will extend their cooperation to the sphere of repairs on Rolls-Royce engine parts and components.
Air France KLM will be supported under a long-term service support agreement with Rolls-Royce, while Rolls-Royce will support Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance to implement Trent XWB engine overhaul capability in Paris.

Trent 1000 and Trent XWB parts repair
Based on AFI KLM E&M experience as an airline-MRO with proven expertise in developing innovative repair processes, Rolls-Royce and AFI KLM E&M will deliver value as a Rolls-Royce parts repair supplier . First repairs to be implemented by AFI KLM E&M are Trent 1000 LPC shaft and IPC front stub shafts, and Trent 1000/Trent XWB Tiled Combustion chambers.

Cooperation to benefit A350 fleet operators
