ALSTEF To Supply Baggage Handling System for New Terminal at Antananarivo Ivato Airport

ALSTEF was selected by CMBI (Colas Madagascar and Bouygues Bâtiment International) to supply the Baggage Handling System for the new terminal at Antananarivo Ivato Airport in Madagascar.

A total of 845,000 passengers travelled through the airport in 2016. This new 17,500 square-metre international terminal will have an initial capacity of 1.5 million passengers in Phase 1. It will be able to handle up to 1.8 million passengers in Phase 2. The existing terminal will be renovated and dedicated to domestic traffic.

The contract includes the supply of 22 regular check-in counters and 1 counter for oversize bags, the integration of 1 Standard 3 control machine (+ 1 in Phase 2), 2 X-ray machines, and a conveyor system with 1 carousel for departures. 2 flat plate carousels and 1 roller table for oversize bags are included at arrivals.

The installation is scheduled to begin by the end of 2018. The system will become operational in the first half of 2019.
