ALSTEF will equip the new Rostov-on-Don Airport with a Baggage Handling System

Rostov-on-Don Airport will replace the airport currently located downtown, which offered no possibility of expansion. Located at about 30 kilometers from the current airport, it will become operational by the end of 2017, in time to accommodate the supporters of the 2018 Football World Cup. In the long term, it is expected to welcome up to 5 million passengers annually.

ALSTEF is responsible for the design, manufacturing and installation of a complete Baggage Handling, Control and Sorting System, with a processing capacity of 2,200 bags per hour for departing flights. It will be equipped with ECAC Standard 3 explosive detection machines, a first in Russia. It will also include 5 baggage delivery lines at the arrivals, 4 of which will be equipped with ALSTEF BAGCLAIM carousels. The complete system will be controlled and monitored by BAGWARE VIEW, a monitoring solution developed by ALSTEF.

This is the second contract awarded to ALSTEF by AIRPORTS OF REGION, following the supply this year of the Baggage Sorting System at the new NIZHNY NOVGOROD terminal.
This is the third system that ALSTEF will deliver in Russia in preparation for the 2018 Football World Cup.
