We started in Hong Kong in 1999, and it is a place that is dear to us. Its vibrancy and strong work ethic fit very well with our philosophy. We have been lucky enough to work on several projects related to Hong Kong International Airport since 1999, and we are proud to have been part of its continuing success. Since the airport opened in 1998, annual passenger numbers have nearly doubled to 56 million, and this has had a major impact upon the Aviation Fuel infrastructure.
Low cost airlines have been the success story of recent years. Couple this with the explosive growth in air travel within China, and the gateway that Hong Kong provides to Taiwan, and it was inevitable that this project would be impressive.
ejet were retained as Aviation Fuel specialist sub-consultant to Atkins China Ltd. with respect to this development at the Airport by Airport Authority Hong Kong.
The project developed a part of the existing apron into a satellite terminal dedicated to low cost airlines, providing 10 dedicated Code C max. Aircraft stands clustered around the Low Cost Carrier satellite building.
As well as new hydrant pits being required, major realignment to the existing hydrant loop was required in order to avoid interference with piling for the satellite terminal construction.
ejet’s scope of work included preparation of design documents and drawings for the new hydrant system extensions, and advice on safe shut down of the parts of the existing system which were to be worked on.
