![]() With a base weight of 10 tonnes, the tractor can be ballasted to 16 tonnes with no increase in its low-profile height or effect on driver visibility. The F1-150 is suitable for push-back of aircraft with a Maximum Take Off Weight of up to 160 tonnes or more (subject to ground conditions). Already with orders under the belt to new customers in the Middle-East and South East Asia, Bliss-Fox General Manager Bryn Jones says, "Whilst sales were on a low level due to the Global Financial Crisis we invested heavily in new business development. By opening our sales horizons beyond our traditional markets we realised that we had a gap in our existing product range. As a result, we reintroduced the F1-150 which was previously produced in the late 1990's. The new F1-150 tractor has been modernised to meet the current needs of our new and existing customer base and sets the standard for narrow-body aircraft push-back and towing operations". Bliss-Fox is an iconic Australian brand and commenced business in 1969 under the original name of Fox Manufacturing. Fox supplied the first tractor for commercial use from its Smithfield, Sydney based facility to the local carrier Qantas in September 1970 as a new fleet of Boeing 747 aircraft were introduced into Australia. Since those early days, Bliss-Fox has gone from strength-to-strength and was the first manufacturer to design and build a specific Airbus A380-capable conventional pushback tractor. The impressive 70 tonnes F1-500 unit supplied to Toll Dnata at Sydney airport in 2008 was used to push-back the first A380 commercial service when Singapore Airlines flew from Sydney to Singapore in November 2007. Bliss-Fox is a member of Nepean Group, Australia's leading privately owned, specialised engineering and industrial manufacturing group. |
