TNT Hong Kong Hub – Parcel Sorter System and Container Handling Equipment

TNT Express, a leading provider of integrated express delivery services, officially opened its new Hong Kong Regional Hub, the state-of-the-art logistics facility which caters for the increasing car-go flow in the region as well as generating greater connectivity between Asia Pacific and Europe.

The system comprises three Elevating Transfer Vehicles operating in an automated ULD system with over 1,300 storage positions.

The 7,380-square-metre facility incorporates the most advanced sorting and security technology. The terminal is able to handle up to 600 tons of cargo daily.Lödige Industries in partnership with Vanderlande Industries were appointed to deliver the new Parcel Sorter System and Container Handling Equipment for TNT Hong Kong Regional Hub.

SCSC Cargo Terminal – First choice for air cargo service requirements

SCSC aspires to be the obvious first choice for air cargo service requirements in Vietnam and to establish its air cargo terminal as the regional benchmark by which to measure first class air cargo service quality in South East Asia.

Lödige Industries were appointed to deliver the Material Handling System for SCSC’s new terminal at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Lödige’s flexible approach ensured SCSC achieved the functionality and capability needed to create a world class facility.

SATS Coolport @ Changi Airport – Asia’s newest perishable handling centre

Coolport has become the first dedicated on-airport facility in Singapore for handling of import, export and transit perishable cargo.

It is designed to handle a wide range of fresh food, more importantly; its secure cool chain logistics process enables to handle pharmaceutical and biomedical products which require more stringent temperature controls.

SATS’ Coolport appointed Lödige Industries for the MHS conversion of the existing cargo terminal, which is located within the Free Trade Zone, to an integrated perishable terminal at a cost of S$1.65 m. The project involved modification of Truck dock, workstation and ETV areas with the inclusion of 1 new castor deck and 1 new shuttle transfer vehicle.

TNT Singapore Hub – The region’s first integrated hub that enhances TNT’s international air freight services between Europe, China and Southeast Asia

Changi Airport is the region’s premier air cargo hub where stringent standards are set to ensure that ground handlers deliver world class services to the cargo agents and the shippers while cargo clearance remains seamless and efficient.

TNT, leading provider of mail and integrated express services, operates a key express parcel hub in Singapore. The TNT’s Singapore Regional Hub, 7,300 square metre facility located within the Changi Airfreight Centre, has significantly increased the capacity for time-sensitive freight passing through Singapore. It represents a S$20 million investment by TNT with a capacity of handling 150 tons of consignments a day.

AAT Asia Airfreight Terminal – World’s tallest ETVs

Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT) is an air cargo terminal based at Hong Kong International Airport, Asia’s premier passenger and cargo hub. AAT serves the world’s leading airlines,  offering a comprehensive range of quality services, from physical cargo handling to documentation processing.

AAT decided to expand its cargo terminal by investing in a Terminal 2, which tripled its cargo handling capacity to over 1.5 million tonnes per annum. In August 2004, Lödige signed a contract to deliver a multi level material handling system for the new AAT cargo terminal.

Terminal 2 is capable of handling 910,000 tonnes per annum, with peak day loadings of 4,000 tonnes. It comprises of four floor levels with a total floor area of approx. 117,000 sqm. Road vehicles can deliver and receive freight on three different levels and dolly trains operate on two airside levels. The Pallet and Container Handling System has thirteen storage levels and includes four Elevating Transfer Vehicles (ETV’s), that sets a world record for this type of equipment with each vehicle being 43 m high. Each ETV unit is designed to lift eight tonnes with vertical and horizontal speeds of 60 metres per minute and 120 metres per minute respectively among almost 1,000 storage positions. The Automated Storage & Retrieval System contains nine 35 metres high Storage and Retrieval Machines (SRM’s) serving 3,500 storage positions with interfaces over three floors.

Maintenance and support
Lödige has been engaged to support AAT through a long-term maintenance contract for both cargo Terminals 1 and 2. Lödige provides a full service on site team 24 hours per day providing planned maintenance, corrective maintenance, spare parts, refurbishments and consultancy.


SATS Terminal 5 Singapore – Fully automated air cargo system

SATS handles most of the airfreight volume coming through Singapore Changi Airport, and is one of the busiest cargo and mail handlers in the world. Its semi-automated ULD system handles 500,000 t/year and it provides cargo, mail, express and courier services to many scheduled and ad-hoc airlines operating at Singapore Changi Airport for more hundreds international and local freight forwarders.

Three elevating transfer vehicles (ETV) are installed to storage the cargo. The rack system com-prises 1,360 storage positions.
