The long-term cooperation between dnata and Lödige Industries is currently being extended by a special chapter. Lödige Industries has taken over the maintenance of various cargo handling systems for dnata at Singapore Changi Airport, including the first material handling system installed by Lödige Industries in Asia in 1979. This system has operated reliably for decades and is now being upgraded for continued optimal performance. The maintenance scope also covers the Automatic Cargo Handling System (ACHS), Pallet Cargo Handling System (PCHS), and mechanical systems at the Cool Chain, and the perishable terminal. Furthermore, Lödige Industries is developing solutions that will further enhance the cargo facility at dnata.
“Our partnership with Lödige Industries is the best we could have chosen, not only because they have extensive experience and knowledge in this field, but also because they understand our needs and have consistently proven themselves to have a high level of reliability. With this critical service, we will ensure that our cargo handling systems are ready for long-term operation, enabling us to handle growing cargo volumes and maintain the high quality standards required by our customers,” says Sam Gould, Head of Cargo at dnata Singapore. Extending the life cycle of materials handling systems with appropriate upgrades is essential and, ensures uninterrupted operation and reduces ongoing maintenance costs.
In addition to supplying comprehensive, customized, high-standard systems and equipment, Lödige Industries sets a high priority on the maintenance of existing systems. “Maintaining a fundamentally functioning system of good quality and adapting it to new challenges through upgrades can be the most effective solution in this case. We are very pleased to support dnata once again,” says Ranga Jayaweera, General Manager for Singapore, for Lödige Industries.
Lödige Industries’ previous projects for dnata in Singapore include the equipping of their perishable center, implementing an elevating transfer vehicle (ETV) system and the provision of equipment including A&A and E&M works prior to underpinning.
Furthermore, Lödige has contributed to upgrades at Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, London, and Amsterdam Airports. This includes completing the second phase of dnata’s cargo handling facilities at London Heathrow Airport, known as dnata City East Phase Two, and a recent modification of the material handling system for dnata’s Terminal One at Sydney Airport in 2024. Lödige is also supplying equipment for dnata’s new cargo terminal at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
“This partnership, which has grown over decades, is exceptional and fills us with both pride and ambition to uphold our high quality with every new project and to continue our collaboration in the long term,” comments Sam Gould.
