Toyota Material Handling Nederland (TMH NL) opened the doors of its new premises at Stevinlaan 4 in Ede on 26th September 2013. In the presence of Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) representatives and guests, Managing Director Pank Hertsenberg officially opened the event.

TMH NL has recently relocated to a brand new building close to the A12 highway. Here, the warehouse and offices have been unified under one roof: a huge window of 75 x 10.5 m allows those at their desks a view of the Toyota Material Handling warehouse and vice versa.

“Placing all our activities in one location allows us to further improve our internal processes and to better serve our customers. We have established strong foundations on which to grow further,” says Pank Hertsenberg, Managing director at Toyota Material Handling Nederland. “All our business processes follow a logical, smooth flow. Now, the activities which are closely connected to one other are brought together under the same roof.”

The open, airy and ideally located offices have been equipped with bamboo flooring and offer an excellent working environment with natural light and modern facilities. The roof of the building boasts 105 solar panels which produce 21,000 kWh annually, which TMH NL uses for charging its energy-efficient forklift solutions. Together with three battery suppliers, TMH NL is testing this innovative technology with the aim of making it available to customers.

Another sustainable feature of the new premise is the use of LED lights in the hallways. They are equipped with motion detectors and daylight control sensors to keep wasted energy to a minimum. In addition to this, heated ceiling panels and an air pump replace traditionally inefficient radiators and air conditioning systems.
