In a first step, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey selected the new Xovis PT2 3D Stereo Vision Sensor to count the passenger traffic at the Air Train stations at New York's JFK Airport. The heavy traffic and the high density movement of the people required a sensor with 3D technology. The new PT2 Sensors was able demonstrate in the field the high accuracy of more than 98% in all situations.
