At Airport Munich, “Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA)” systems will now be used to air-condition the aircraft cabin in the parking position, eliminating the auxiliary turbines used to date and avoiding noise, unnecessary fuel consumption, and unnecessary CO2 emissions.

IST has been awarded in 2013 to equip all 64 positions with its stainless steel PCA telescopic tube and electric hose reels.

Through the use of the new PCA plants more than 23,500 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) can be saved in one year.

Munich Airport has set itself the goal of growing CO2-neutral by 2020.

The PCA plants represent the largest single item in this project.
