Republic of Srpska carried out major modernisations with COMSOFT solutions
Civil Aviation Department of the Republic of Srpska (RSCAD) have been providing further advanced and safe message handling services since successfully reaching site acceptance with COMSOFT’s AIDA-NG upgrade.
RSCAD launched their first COMSOFT CIDIN/AFTN system in 2002. With the central system installed at Banja Luka Airport the AMHS upgrade, with market-leading solution AIDA-NG, comprised of two phases and delivered the latest features of message handling.
With the modernisation of their system Republic of Srpska, in South-eastern Europe, were also able to perform successful interoperability tests with adjacent centres in Belgrade/Serbia and Sarajevo/Bosnia and Herzegovina, where COMSOFT systems were already present.
Commenting on the upgrade, RSCAD's Director, Mr. Damir Ćopić said: "Continuous improvement is essential now and for the future, and with COMSOFT’s AIDA-NG and CADAS solutions we are now fully in line with the latest ICAO standards and can transmit advanced messages, essential for the expected growth in air travel.”
The latest system additions include AMHS/X.400 Message Transfer Agent (MTA) (P1 connections), AFTN/AMHS Gateway (MTCU), ATS Message Server (connection of P3 User Agents) and CADAS-ATS Client Terminal System. AIDA-NG excels with its high connectivity and ability link to the ATN directory services based on X.500 data model. Its low maintenance costs and increased reliability will also play a significant role in future air traffic management. Complementary CADAS-ATS also allows fully integrated AFTN and AMHS message processing.

The Civil Aviation Department of the Republic of Srpska is a public agency, with the founder’s rights exercised by the Government on behalf of the Republic of Serbia.
