The Netherlands Aerospace Group - Dutch Aerospace Cluster

The Netherlands Aerospace Group is proud of being able to support the strong Dutch aerospace cluster on the global market. Practically all enterprises that excel in education, R&D, engineering, production, MRO and the associated support functions have united under the umbrella of the NAG.

Thanks to this, the NAG is recognized as the sector’s contact with the government, the sector’s representative within the European ASD and the sector’s face on the global market. In short, NAG supports its members through knowledge, positioning and representations.

The core activity of the knowledge center is determining the members’ knowledge needs and finding suitable solutions for this. Often one member’s knowledge needs can be fulfilled by other members. If the sought knowledge cannot be obtained from among the members, experts are brought in.

The knowledge center handles both individual questions (“oracle” function) as well as topics in collective meetings. The questions that are discussed are very diverse and often of a non-technical nature, such as questions about the market, quality, regulations, cooperation and finances.

With more than 100 members of the NAG consists of several large companies, research institutes,  education centers and many specialized SMEs whose 16,500 employees together generate revenues of EUR 3.9 billion. Three-fourth of the activities are aimed at MRO & new development and the rest at Airport Development. Some 69% of revenues comes from export.

Our sector distinguishes itself on the global market through its independence, excellent knowledge structure, structured innovation process and unique logistical position. Read more about the advantages of being a NAG member here.

Company Profile

  • Positioning

One of the goals of the NAG is to improve the position of its members in the international playing field.

In order to do so, the NAG initiates activities to explore foreign markets with its members. Trade missions and participating in exhibitions are the most used tools to reach this goal.

The aim is to create business opportunities and – by doing so – improving their competitiveness.

The NAG has opened offices in Brazil, France and Turkey in order to support its members more effectively.

  • Representations

The competitiveness of NAG members also depends on governments, governmental organisations and adjoining interest groups.

This makes the role of the Dutch government plural: the government is a regulator (Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment), it supports international business and technological developments (Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation) and the government also has a purchasing role (Ministry of Defence).

The European trade organisation for the aerospace industry, ASD (Aerospace and Defense Industries of Europe), has a large influence on European policy with regard to the aerospace industry.

Sister organisations abroad provide excellent access to clients and partners for our members and offer challenging ideas to optimize the services of the NAG.

The Netherlands Aerospace Group has direct relations with these parties and is represented in many key positions.
