MF/HF Solid State Transmitter – 10 kW (TX10000A)

The TX10000A is a high-power, fully solid-state 10 kW MF/HF transmitter designed for continuous-duty operation in critical long-range communication environments such as airport HF ground stations, oceanic ATC networks, coastal radio facilities and military or governmental communication infrastructures.

Covering the full HF spectrum from 2 to 30 MHz using broadband RF architecture, the transmitter allows instantaneous frequency changes with 1 Hz resolution without mechanical tuning, enabling rapid channel switching and very high operational availability.

The system is built using a fully modular structure composed of a digital exciter, multiple solid-state power amplifier modules, RF power combining stages, interconnection modules and redundant power supply units. This architecture simplifies maintenance, allows fast field replacement of individual modules and significantly reduces Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), which is critical in 24/7 ATC operations.

The TX10000A supports voice and data services including telephony, data transmission and NAVTEX operation. It also includes embedded SELCAL (Selective Calling) with 32-tone capability, enabling selective alerting and automated call initiation in aeronautical HF communication systems, improving operational efficiency and reducing continuous monitoring requirements.

Remote operation is supported via Ethernet or RS-232 interfaces, and audio can be provided through standard 600-ohm balanced or unbalanced analog inputs, as well as via VoIP when connected to external ED-137 compatible gateways. This allows seamless integration into modern IP-based Voice Communication Systems (VCS) used in airport and area control centers.

Integrated supervision includes built-in wattmeter functions for forward and reflected power as well as SWR monitoring, ensuring safe operation and continuous antenna system supervision. The transmitter tolerates SWR levels up to 3:1 and supports selectable reduced output power levels to adapt to regulatory constraints or operational requirements.

The equipment is installed in a full-height anticorrosive aluminium cabinet designed for harsh environmental conditions, including high humidity and coastal or airport outdoor shelters, ensuring long-term reliability in mission-critical installations.
