Airline notes record-breaking result in Pyrzowice
On 25 July 2023 (Tuesday), Wizz Air handled the 25 millionth passenger on flights to and from Katowice Airport. Aldona, passenger number 25,000,000, comes from the Subcarpathian Voivodeship; she returned to Katowice Airport with her family after vacation in Bergen, Norway.
Wizz Air has been present at Katowice Airport since 19 May 2004, when the carrier’s Airbus A320 handled the flight to London-Luton. It was the first commercial operation in the airline’s history.
In June 2023, 658 thousand passengers traveller via the regular and charter network of flights at Katowice Airport; it was the best June in the history of the airport. The record-breaking result from June 2019, when 583 thousand passengers travelled to/from Katowice Airport, has been surpassed.
The first half of 2023 was also record-brekaing; in six months, 2,245 million passengers were served at Katowice Airport.
