About 1 million passengers will pass through Belo Horizonte Airport in December

New destinations and increased flight frequency meet holiday demand and boost airport connectivity

The holiday season is about to start and will drive traffic at BH Airport throughout December. The expectation is that around 1 million passengers will circulate through the terminal, with the operation of 8.2 thousand aircraft. Projections show a 16% growth compared to the same period last year (December 2021) and a 98% recovery compared to the same pre-pandemic period (December 2019).

The progressive evolution in handling reflects the airport’s commitment to providing the best airport experience to customers. We are dedicated to boosting connectivity with new takeoff options in high season and different alternatives for all regions of the country, including the interior of Minas Gerais”, emphasizes BH Airport’s Director of Operations and Infrastructure, Herlichy Bastos.

In addition to the increased frequency of flights to coastal cities, passengers can now choose the Minas Gerais cities of Juiz de Fora, Paracatu, Patos de Minas, Teófilo Otoni and Varginha as destinations, flying with Azul Conecta. On average, there will be two departures per week for each city. The resumption of flights to Lençóis (BA) and the new routes to Aracaju (SE), Caldas Novas (GO), Navegantes (SC) and Santarém (PA) are also Azul news for the period.

Our perspective is quite optimistic for the movement of passengers and aircraft in this high season”, emphasizes Herlichy Bastos. “Throughout this year, one of the pillars of our management was focused on strengthening ourselves as a domestic hub and offering the best solutions for our customers, expanding route options and destinations throughout the country, with comfort, tranquility and practicality for passengers.
