Company Kansai International Airport
Date 09.02.2022

Centrally managed airport information for more optimal operations launches today.

Kansai Airports is pleased to announce that the airport operational database (AODB) has been in place since February 9, 2022.

AODB is the central database that allows us to aggregate and integrate various data related to airport operations. It connects systems and databases that had functioned as stand alone, enabling us to share information in real time with airport stakeholders, including the Civil Aviation Bureau, airlines, and transport operators. We will first use this new database for the allocation of aircraft stands and gates and information sharing with airlines and ground
handlers, and gradually expand its functions. By using data effectively, we aim to optimize the allocation of airport resources such as aircraft stands and checkin counters by the time of the OsakaKansai Expo in 2025.

Kansai Airports Group is committed to expanding its aviation network to deliver a more convenient, comfortable and pleasant travel experience for all guests

Expected outcomes
Improving airport operation efficiency and passenger flows
. In addition to allocating checkin counters and aircraft stands, AODB centrally manages
various flightrelated data, such as passenger and other progress information. By sharing such information with airport stakeholders, we aim to improve the efficiency of airport operations and passenger flows.

Efficient and laborsaving operation by utilizing KPIs and automating assignments. With AODB that automatically presents efficient allocations based on set rules and KPIs, we aim to save labor required for allocation activities and facilitate efficient use of airport resources.
