Belo Horizonte Airport announces new logistics solutions at Intermodal South America 2025

Intermodal South America 2025, the largest logistics event in the Americas, will take place from April 22 to 24 in São Paulo, and BH Airport will be present through its Multimodal Logistics Hub. The first airport in Brazil with multimodal cargo operations, connecting businesses to the world by air, land and sea, BH Airport will present, during the event, launches in logistics solutions for receiving, unsealing, storing and nationalizing cargo.

Held annually, the fair is focused on the logistics, intralogistics, technology, cargo transportation and foreign trade sectors in Latin America. According to BH Airport’s Commercial Manager, Geovane Medina, the airport has prepared a stand focused on presenting the hub’s products, including those that have just been created and will be presented for the first time during the fair. “We have been working on creating increasingly innovative solutions that help our customers with specific cargo transportation demands. These are products designed with importers’ needs in mind and that contribute to the development of the local economy. We are very excited about this fair, which is an excellent opportunity to meet our partners and customers in person, showing in practice the differences of our hub,” he says.

Among the products that will be presented at Intermodal is a new land route, which picks up cargo that arrives at Galeão Airport (GIG) and brings it to the international terminal in Minas Gerais. This operation takes place via consolidated removal, with transportation between customs areas, without the cargo starting the nationalization process. Customs clearance only takes place when the cargo arrives at BH Airport, which offers attractive rates to companies and importers from Minas Gerais.

Other examples of solutions that will be presented at the fair are international road routes, which will connect BH Airport by land to different destinations in the Americas; the compliant shipment, which is a customs area exclusively for courier hub operations, ensuring greater agility and efficiency; and the service for special cargo, which are customized solutions for the clearance of large and special cargo.

The BH Multimodal Logistics Hub is the only customs area in Minas Gerais with 24-hour inspection. It has 12,000 m² of customs area, 300 m² of dangerous cargo warehouse; 3,131 m² of cold rooms with customized setup from -18°C to +22°C and thermal qualification; and 11 parking spaces for cargo aircraft.

The terminal receives cargo from several countries around the world, and among the most representative countries of origin are the United States, China, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and France. Among the sectors with the greatest demand are Life Sciences, with cargo such as vaccines and medicines, Mining and Automotive. In 2024, the terminal received more than 30 thousand cargo import operations, an 8% growth compared to the previous year.
