Belo Horizonte International Airport signs partnership with FCJ VentureBuilder and Sebrae for an innovation

Sprint held today promoted synergy in search of collaborative innovation and pioneering development of airport technologies on the national scene

Belo Horizonte International Airport took another important step towards recognition as the most innovative airport in the country. Promoting synergy with companies and anchor entities of national relevance, with a strong vocation for innovation, the event consolidates another stage of the design sprint methodology for the creation of the Innovation Center, which should start operating at the airport in mid-2023.

In addition to fostering the national innovation ecosystem, with the alignment of purposes, objectives and expectations, Belo Horizonte International Airport entered into a partnership with FCJ Venture Builder, represented by CEO Paulo Justino, to create the BH Airport for Startups Program. During the event, the superintendent director of Sebrae-MG, Afonso Rocha, announced another novelty made possible by the partnership with BH Airport: the pioneering construction of the Sebrae Lab in the Minas Gerais terminal, with the objective of boosting economic development focused on innovation for small Business

Our pillar is to be recognized as the best airport in Brazil and we seek to be the most innovative airport in the national territory”, underlines the CEO of BH Airport, Kleber Meira. “What we promoted today was something extremely new for the infrastructure sector, promoting joint innovation for the airport sector”, he points out. “With the launch of 5G technology, we seek to consolidate the smart airport concept in the terminal”, he adds.

The sprint represented the opportunity to strengthen partnerships with the co-founders of the Innovation Center, which will be based on the development of airport technologies, mobility and connectivity, with 5G as a transversal theme, and sustainability as a pillar. “We are creating an environment conducive to innovation through collaboration with important partners such as Sebrae, FCJ Venture Builder, Raja Valley, Embraer, Puc-Minas, Fundação Dom Cabral, Ericsson, Vivo and Stellantis, for example”, explains the BH Airport’s Commercial Director, Marcos Mandacaru.

Sebrae’s partnership with BH Airport represents the union of experience with innovation, focused on the sustainable development of the business”, says the superintendent director of Sebrae-MG, Afonso Rocha. “It is extremely important to invest in innovation to ensure the competitiveness and survival of companies”, he reinforces, stressing the importance of reinvention for economic development through small businesses.
