BH Airport receives Via Viva 2023 award

Recognition is linked to the airport’s environmental performance and the handover ceremony took place this Wednesday (8), in Brasília

BH Airport’s environmental practices contributed to the airport winning, this Wednesday (8), the Via Viva 2023 award. This is the second consecutive year that the airport has been recognized. The delivery ceremony took place in Brasília, during the seventh edition of the Socio-Environmental Seminar on Transport Infrastructure, promoted by the Ministry of Transport.

The determination of the winners was based on the results of the Environmental Performance Index (IDA) for the transport infrastructure sector. The IDA evaluates and encourages good practices in socio-environmental management and aims to verify the qualitative evolution and socio-environmental commitment of the sector. The indicator serves as a parameter to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of environmental management in transport infrastructure projects.

BH Airport came first in the category that evaluated the annual number of passengers equal to or greater than 5 million. “Winning this award is recognition for all the work we put into practice in favor of ESG, an important strategic pillar of our management. Environmental, social and governance actions are a reality at the airport. The award shows that we are on the right path”, highlights Daniel Miranda, CEO of BH Airport.

The most sustainable in Brazil

In the middle of this year, BH Airport had already been recognized as the most sustainable airport in Brazil, in the category above 5 million passengers, in an award granted by the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac). The Minas Gerais international terminal received the highest score among participants in the 2022 Edition of the Sustainable Airports Program.
