Works in the areas of the boarding gates, as well as in the inspection channel, are expected to be delivered in December
Today, the airport has 26 boarding bridges divided between passenger terminals 1 and 2. From gates 1 to 16, all are part of Passenger Terminal 1. From 17 onwards they make up Passenger Terminal 2. With a modern infrastructure , it was completed in 2016 and offers passengers comfort and convenience.
“The idea of the renovation is to bring all the modernity of Passenger Terminal 2 to the older terminal as well. Built more than 30 years ago and without any renovation of this magnitude during those years, Passenger Terminal 1 has architecture and aesthetics marked by concrete. With the renovation and modernization project, the aim is to harmoniously compose the existing areas with new materials and textures”, explains Gustavo Anfra, Airport Development Manager at BH Airport.
The modernization project for Passenger Terminal 1, signed by Fernandes Arquitetos Associados, provides for the expansion of commercial areas, as well as the review of flows and processes – which include X-rays, check-in, baggage claim, lounges and gates. boarding.
Interventions at Passenger Terminal 1 will require investments of around R$ 100 million and will contribute to strengthening the airport’s role as a hub, that is, a flight distribution center, with a privileged location and wide connection with the entire country. Currently, around 50 cities are connected to the terminal with direct flights.
“We always want to offer the best airport experience to our customers. With the current works, the airport enters a new level of excellence and passengers, visitors and the entire airport community now have more comfort and convenience. In addition, we are going to expand our commercial areas by 100%, which is reflected in the diversity of our commercial mix”, emphasizes
