Fresh Food and Fast Service: Narvesen Grows Retail Network Across Lithuania’s Airports

Vilnius, Kaunas, and Palanga airports have become key locations for the expansion of the “Narvesen” quick-service retail chain. The newest store has opened in the terminal at Kaunas Airport, while upgraded and modernized points of sale are now welcoming passengers at Vilnius and Palanga airports.

“The new departures terminal at Vilnius Airport, the ongoing reconstruction at Kaunas Airport, and the developments at Palanga Airport all reflect the active growth of Lithuania’s airports, expanding capacity and improving service quality. Our strategic goal is to provide the best possible experience for millions of passengers. It’s crucial that our commercial partners align with our plans and support these efforts through business investments. We appreciate our partners’ commitment to exploring opportunities and contributing to the continued development of Lithuania’s air gateways,” says Gintarė Norvilaitė–Tautevičė, Head of the Commercial Department at Lithuanian Airports (LTOU).

Stores Designed Around Passenger Needs

“Narvesen” stores are operating in the new departures terminal of Vilnius Airport and two other locations within the airport. In mid-July, a newly tailored store also opened at Kaunas Airport, while a renovated store now greets travelers at Palanga Airport.

“We are always looking for ways to be closer to people on the move, helping them reach their destination more easily. That’s why we constantly analyze customer needs, curate our product range accordingly, and ensure the highest service standards every day. At airports, speed of service is especially critical as many customers are in a rush with limited time to shop. A quick and efficient experience becomes the core indicator of quality in these cases. When upgrading our stores, we created a service and product structure specifically aimed at meeting the needs of busy travelers. As a result, ‘Narvesen’ offers a wide selection of fresh food and snacks conveniently packaged for take-away – from healthier options to fast energy boosts,” explains Daiva Pivoriūnienė, Head of Commerce and Operations at Reitan Convenience Lithuania.

From Snacks to Toothpaste – All in One Place

According to Pivoriūnienė, passengers at Lithuanian airports most frequently purchase water, coffee, freshly made sandwiches, sweets, and other light snacks. Traditional Lithuanian treats, souvenirs, and items featuring national symbols are also popular gift choices. Other top-selling items include travel-sized toothpaste, toothbrushes, and over-the-counter pain relievers.

“Narvesen” also offers a wide variety of non-food products aimed at making travel more enjoyable: books, magazines, travel hygiene products, neck pillows, mobile accessories, and items for children to keep them entertained.

“We strive to ensure that everything a traveler might need before a flight is easily available in one convenient location,” Pivoriūnienė summarizes.

She also notes that customers in Lithuania highly value locally made products. “In response to this, we plan to further expand our partnerships with local producers, incorporating even more Lithuanian-made items – from beverages to sweets,” she adds.

In total, five modern and convenient “Narvesen” stores have been opened or renovated across Lithuanian airports this year, helping passengers prepare for their journeys, relax, or grab a bite before or after a flight. The “Narvesen” brand in Lithuania is operated by Reitan Convenience Lithuania, which also manages the “Caffeine” coffee chain. At Lithuanian airports, coffee served in “Narvesen” stores is brewed exclusively from organic “Caffeine” coffee beans.
