As part of the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program, Gdansk Airport has committed to and is performing actions to reduce the airport’s environmental impact, while monitoring the company’s carbon footprint. We have also committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
“I am delighted that we can proudly announce our first certification of the ACA Carbon Accreditation Program. This is another step we are taking towards the sustainable development of our Port.” – said Tomasz Kloskowski, President of Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport.
Gdansk Airport has been certified by the ACA at level one, known as Mapping. The program consists of a total of seven levels, with each successive level imposing further tasks for ports to complete.
The Carbon Accreditation Program is implemented by the Airports Council International (ACI). It is an organization of airport authorities that aims to standardize industry practices in terms of airport standards.
The program has already attracted more than 600 airports from around the world. It is participated by major airports such as Heathrow in London and Hartsfield-Jackson in the US city of Atlanta.
