Hartsfield-Jackson Releases 2022 Environmental, Social, Governance and Prosperity Report

The 2022 report highlights ATL’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability, community engagement, and responsible governance

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) today announced the release of the 2022 Environmental, Social, Governance and Prosperity (ESP+P) report, themed “ATL Flying Forward.” The report provides an overview of environmental and social risks and opportunities, as well as its methods for governing these issues effectively. Given the Airport’s role as the largest economic engine for the region, Prosperity is listed as a fourth element. ATL released its inaugural report in 2022, covering calendar year 2021.

“The past year has been one of resurgence for ATL, as we increasingly move beyond the obstacles posed by the pandemic and continue to serve the world as the  busiest and most efficient airport,” said Airport General Manager Balram “B” Bheodari. “Flying Forward to a bright future, we remain committed to doing our part to achieve a more sustainable world.”

The comprehensive ESG+P report highlights the significant strides made by ATL in various areas, including environmental stewardship, community engagement, and governance practices.

Key Highlights from the 2022 ESG+P Report:

1. Environmental Initiatives: ATL has implemented numerous sustainability initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, conserve energy, and promote sustainable practices. These initiatives include energy-efficient technologies, waste reduction programs, and eco-friendly transportation options.

2. Community Engagement: ATL remains dedicated to fostering positive relationships with the local community and its stakeholders. The 2022 report showcases the Airport’s work in supporting education, health and local businesses through various outreach programs.

3. Governance Practices: ATL maintains a strong commitment to transparent and ethical governance practices. The report outlines the Airport’s corporate governance framework and highlights the measures taken to ensure accountability, fairness and integrity in decision-making.

4. Prosperity and Economic Impact: The Airport’s growth and development have positively contributed to the economic prosperity of the region. The report provides an overview of ATL’s economic impact, including job creation and equitable business opportunities.
