Southern-style buttermilk chicken, Mexican tacos, smash burgers and Pad Thai will be among the options on menus at Manchester Airport’s new street-food market, bosses have revealed.

As part of the £1.3bn redevelopment of Terminal 2, the airport is set to open a first-of-its-kind ‘market hall’ style eating area. The Great Northern Market will feature six street-food kitchens set around a central dining area, meaning groups of people can order from different, rotating pop-ups and still eat together.

And now, speaking to the airport’s official podcast Manchester: Your Airport, MAN, airport Retail Director Richard Jackson has confirmed the opening line-up of kitchens.

The first kitchens to open will be:

–          Nashville Hot House, serving buttermilk chicken and other Southern favourites

–          The Black Iron Grill, serving smash burgers and loaded fries

–          Kouzina, with Greek and Mediterranean inspired street eats

–          La Casita, offering a variety of Mexican dishes

–          Palms Café, serving pan-Asian dishes

–          Napoli Street Pizza.

In addition to the six street-food kitchens, which take inspiration from some of Manchester’s finest street eats, Mancunian institution Gooey will also be bringing its assortment of sweet treats to the Great Northern Market, from coffees to cookies and donuts.
