Tender for the operation and modernization of Business lounges at "Henri Coanda" Airport

The National Airports Company of Bucharest has launched one of the most important commercial opportunities in recent years: the tender for the rental and modernization of the new Business Lounges at the “Henri Coandă” International Airport in Bucharest.

The auction targets two Premium Business Lounges, with a total area of ​​608.80 sq m, located in the “Departures” terminal of the airport – one in the Schengen area, the other in non-Schengen.

Interested companies can submit bids for either one of the spaces or both, under long-term contracts, lasting 10 years, which allow for solid investments in the modernization of the Business Lounges, considered to be the commercial spaces with the greatest development potential in the airport sector in Romania.

The award process will take place through a transparent competition, organized at the Romanian Commodity Exchange, and participants have the opportunity to view the spaces dedicated to the future lounges in advance.

“This tender is an integral part of a broad program to modernize the commercial offer of “Henri Coandă” Airport. We want each Business Lounge to offer passengers a distinct experience, through superior services and facilities adapted to the most modern quality criteria,” stated Bogdan Mîndrescu, General Manager of the National Company of Bucharest Airports.

Through this initiative, “Henri Coandă” Airport aims to raise standards in terms of design, comfort and premium services, consolidating its position as a regional hub and Romania’s main air access gateway.

Bucharest “Henri Coandă” International Airport concentrates over 70% of passenger traffic in Romania. In 2025, over 17 million passengers passed through the airport, and between January and August 2026, 11.2 million passengers were processed through “Henri Coandă” Airport.

The airport currently provides connections to 156 airports around the world. The main destinations, by passenger numbers, are: London, Istanbul, Rome, Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam, Madrid, Milan and Brussels.
