Budapest, also called the “Pearl of the Danube”, is one of the most beautiful European capitals. The city impresses with its architecture, historical landmarks and rich cultural scene. Among the symbols of the Hungarian capital are the Parliament, whose majestic silhouette is reflected in the Danube, and the fabulous towers of the Fisherman’s Bastion, from which the beautiful panorama of Buda and Pest is revealed. In the immediate vicinity of the Parliament, on the very bank of the river, is one of the most influential monuments in Europe – “Shoes on the Danube”, which reminds of the turbulent history of the city.
