UK aviation pioneer Aviramp will have one of its award-winning step-free aircraft boarding ramps showcased at the world’s biggest airshow for the first time this year.
Ground handling giant dnata will display an Aviramp Continental solar-powered ramp alongside a flydubai Boeing 737-800 at the Dubai Airshow.
And dnata has invited Aviramp founder and chief executive Graham Corfield and head of global sales Adam Corfield along to the show to mark the occasion.
Graham said: “Dnata have very kindly invited us to display a ramp at the show and we were delighted to accept.
“It could not come at a better time. Improving accessibility for all passengers – particularly those who use wheelchairs or have reduced mobility – is a very hot topic in the industry at the moment and something all airports and carriers know they need to address.
“At Dubai, decision-makers will see first-hand how our ramps improve safety, speed up turnaround times and transform the travel experience for passengers with reduced mobility.
“We are thrilled to be attending, very grateful to dnata for their fantastic support and hope to meet as many people as possible during the show.”
Adam added: “Showcasing our ramp in this way gives us exposure to airports we’ve not yet worked with and underlines why they are now in use at more than 900 airports around the globe. They’re easy for one person to operate, run all day on solar power and make a huge difference to passengers and operators alike.”
The event – which runs from November 17-21 – also marks the first time father and son Graham and Adam have represented the company together at a world trade show since launching the concept at Brussels in 2010.
Telford-based Aviramp has enjoyed huge success over the last two years.
It was this year named in the Sunday Times 100 – the prestigious ranking of Britain’s fastest-growing private companies – is a current holder of the Queen’s Award for International Trade and posted record profits in 2024.
Aviramp boarding ramps and bridges are used when an aircraft is parked on a remote stand and offer a safe, dignified alternative to stairs and separate ambulifts for wheelchair users and those passengers with reduced mobility.
The low-angled ramps are fitted with a unique non-slip surface to improve safety for all passengers and help improve turnaround times and efficiency for airlines, airports and ground handlers.
